A case of mandibular prognathism treated by modified inverted L ramus osteotomy.

We report on a 20-year-old Japanese man with mandibular prognathism and an abnormal position of inferior alveolar canal. This paper describes the surgical technique and modified intraoral inverted L ramus osteotomy used for mandibular setback. With this technique and examination by computed tomographic scanning, we could perform osteotomy as initially planned and avoid damage to the inferior alveolar nerve.
