Características diferenciales en las conductas suicidas y parasuicidas de pacientes geriátricos

Elderly people have higher risk of suicide than the rest of population groups; however, there are few preventive measures for this population, and the study and research of the suicidal risk have been focused on younger groups. In this original, we present a study developed about the geriatric population of a rural area,. in order to identify the essential characteristics of the suicide and parasuicide behaviors in this population, and also comparing it with current bibliography. It also stresses the importance of prevention in this group, with programs aimed at the identification of the risk factors described.
