Abstract
Hydro turbine governor play an important role in maintain the frequency stability of power system and operation control. It also affects security and efficiency of the hydropower plants. So performance of the governor is important to the hydropower plants. Frequency measurement is the key problem in the hydro-turbine governing system. In this paper, frequency measurement scheme of the hydro turbine governor and the frequency measurement method based on the DSP2812 are emphatically discussed. TMS320F2812 is a new 2000 series DSP chip with 32-bit low-power fixed-point processors, the maximum frequency 150MHz, has a strong operational capabilities and rapid interrupt response processing capabilities. Capture unit to capture the measured signal level of the effective hopping along, from the internal cycle counter records a number of internal standard-frequency pulses, and through the corresponding operation to get the size of the measured frequency.
