Abstract

Monoenergetic proton beams were obtained from laser-plasma interactions with unprecedented reproducibility. From hundreds of spectra, we derive an empirical scaling law between proton peak position and laser energy. The results are supported PIC simulations. (C) 2006 Optical Society of America
