摘要
Pathological diagnosis of a surgically excised sebaceous adenocarcinoma in a 6 year old male non-descript dog is being reported here. The animal turned up with an ulcerated mass on the dorsum. Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology suggested tumour owing to cells of higher nucleus-cytoplasmic ratio. The animal was subjected to surgery and from the excised mass, specimen was collected and subjected to histopathological study. The exteriorized mass weighed 60 grams. Histopathology revealed proliferating sheets of cells with large vesicular nucleus with indistinct boundaries which formed papillary projections. Some of them formed glandular pattern with multiple layer of cells separated into lobules by narrow strands of connective tissue and occasional fibrous tissue proliferation. Neutrophil and mononuclear cell infiltrations were also found. The glandular lining cells were hyperchromatic and mitotic figures were evident. Based on the histopathological features, the tumour was confirmed to be sebaceous adenocarcinoma.
