Abstract
This study investigated the influence of worker-supervisor relationship and pay satisfaction on turnover intentions among primary school teachers in Ado in Benue State, Nigeria. The study was a survey and worker-supervisor relationship was assessed using Benjamin Rose Relationship with Supervisor Scale. Pay Satisfaction Questionnaire was used in measuring satisfaction with pay. Turnover intentions were assessed using Turnover Intention Scale adopted from the work of Lee (2008). A total of 299 primary school teachers who were randomly sampled took part in the study. The participants were made up of 179 (59.87%) males and 120 (40.13%) females. The result showed that worker-supervisor relationship do not significantly influenced turnover intention of teachers (F(1, 298)= .042, p>0.05). The result equally indicated that pay satisfaction was statistically significant on turnover intention of teachers (F(1, 298) = 4.131, p 0.05). The study recommended that the remuneration at the basic level of education in Nigeria should be made attractive in order to raise the satisfaction of teachers as this will bring about their retention.
