In this paper, we calculated the magnetic field on the surface and in the borehole caused by 3D arbitrarily‐shaped bodies with the numerical integral method. By integrating the visualization technology into the 3D display of models and magnetic field, we constructed a user‐friendly environment in which the theoretical modeling results are capable of fitting the observed ones in a more reasonable sense. Field example testified that, the three‐component borehole magnetic data was used effectively in a joint forward modeling with surface data to produce models that are superior to those obtained by inversion of surface data or borehole data alone. As an instructive guidance, the method will greatly facilitate the prospecting for undetected mineral deposits below shallower ones.Permalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3603567FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails Beijing 2009 International Geophysical Conference and Exposition, Beijing, China, 24–27 April 2009ISBN (print):978-1-56080-284-6ISSN (online):2159-6832Copyright: 2009 Pages: publication data© 2009 Copyright © 2009 Society of Exploration Geophysicists and China Petroleum SocietyPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished: 28 Jun 2011 CITATION INFORMATION Yuanyuan Li, Yang Yushan, and Tianyou Liu, (2009), "Interactive 3D forward modeling of the surface and three‐component magnetic data for the Daye iron‐ore deposit (China)," SEG Global Meeting Abstracts : 42-42. https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3603567 Plain-Language Summary PDF DownloadLoading ...
