Raman Spectra And The Symmetry Of Spin-Peierls Crystal Alpha '-Nav2o5

Polarized room-temperature Raman spectra of one-dimensional spin-Peierls single crystal alpha'-NaV2O5 are obtained in backscattering geometries which enabled one to observe all types of the Raman-active modes. The Raman spectra of this crystal with various degree of the deficiency of the Na atoms are also represented. The Raman data are consistent with the recent X-ray measurements and confirm the centrosymmetrical structure of this crystal at room temperature.
