Simultaneous Determination of Sulfur Metabolites in Plant Tissue by LC-ESI-MS/MS

An analytical method was developed for the accurate quantification of the contents of sulfur metabolites of plant tissues based on liquid chromatography electrospray ionization - tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS). S-34-Labeled sulfur metabolites were biosynthesized in Arabidopsis thaliana from S-34-SO42- and used as internal standards for the analysis and quantification of these sulfur-containing metabolites in A. thaliana and O. banksiaefolia fern spores.
