ASUSat lab - Past, present, and future

The purpose of this paper is to give an in-depth example of a successful method to further engineering education. The significance of such an educational approach and the impact it can have on the student, the faculty, the university, and local industry are illustrated by the experiences of the Arizona State University Satellite Project ASUSatl. This discourse aims to show approaches to the implementation of such a project and focuses on the lessons learned from ASUSatl. A number of obstacles that exist are illustrated, and possible solutions to these challenges are presented. The authors present this example as a baseline model and foundation for new projects. This paper should give those who wish to start a similar project the needed information for a successful implementation.
