Abstract
Proton therapy is generally acknowledged as one of the most effective techniques in the selective damage of cancer cells. A 230MeV Fixed-Energy Cyclotron in proton Therapy Center has been established on 2003 in National Cancer Center (NCC), Korea, to treat cancer patients and to perform leading cancer research. For this study, the existing beam line consists of beam optic elements such as quadrupole for focusing, defocusing, bending magnet and collimator were simulated with the Monte Carlo transport code Fluka and finally the dose distribution in a head phantom have been estimated. The obtained results have good agreement with experimental data.
