摘要
A case of pancreatic metastasis of renal cell carcinoma which was resected 11 years after a nephrectomy for the primary lesion is reported. A 64-year-old woman, who had undergone a right nephrectomy for a renal cell carcinoma in May 1984, and had been pointed out a small solid occupied lesion 2cm in diameter in the tail of pancreas in May 1993, was admitted to the hospital because of another two enhancing tumors in the tail of pancreas on CT in November 1994. Abdominal angiography detected three metastatic lesions by their hypervascular nature in the tail of the pancreas. Three metastatic lesions ranging 1.5-3.0cm in diameter were resected by distal pancreatectomy in April 1995. The pathological findings of the specimen showed the metastasis of renal cell carcinoma in the pancreas. The patient is doing well for 22 months after the second operatin. We think that aggresive resection of the isolated pancreatic metastasis from renal cell carcinoma may improve the prognosis.
