Abstract
•We synthesized biocompatible PEGylated Ag-NPs decorated with GQDs on their surface.•The Ag-GQDs inhibited growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.•The decoration of Ag with GQDs fosters a synergistic effect to inhibit both bacteria.•Ag-GQDs may have potential applications in the fabrication of antibacterial agents.
