Abstract
The optical dichroism induced by magnetic field has been observed at d-d optical transitions in the two-sublattice tetragonal antiferromagnetic MnF2 crystal. Magnetic field as well as light propagation vector was directed along tetragonal axis of the crystal. The linear dichroism. odd with respect to magnetic field direction, should be sufficient for visual observations of time-reversed domains in MnF2.
