The processed data can be used to calibrate surface seismic data in which the multiple waves can be identified. The technique was used in the VSP data operation in H15 well area of Daqing Oilfield. The results showed that the VSP data can find the formation producing the multiple waves which is 10m thick coal seam in this area. The multiple waves produced by coal seam were identified in 3D surface seismic data. This technique establishes the foundation for 3D seismic data processing.
