Abstract
Introduction: Hyperkalemia is a serious and frequent metabolic emergency which can cause life threatening cardiac rhythm abnormalities. There are several therapy options in the treatment of hyperkalemia, but there is no enough study which shows the efficacy of intravenous calcium treatment.Case: In this article, two cases which had wide QRS complexes in their ECGs and improved after intravenous calcium gluconate treatment had been reported.Summary: Although calcium gluconate treatment was not supported with enough study, it is important and effective agent in hyperkalemia treatment.
