Role of biogenic silver nanoparticles in disruption of cell–cell adhesion in Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli biofilm

•Synthesis of biogenic silver nanoparticles using tea leaf decoction.•Characterization of the synthesized nanoparticles using UV–vis, TEM and FTIR.•Compatibility and stability of silver nanoparticle was studied.•Minimum inhibitory concentration of AgNPs against gram positive and negative human pathogenic bacteria was evaluated.•Eradication of biofilms from surfaces of biomaterials was studied.
