Abstract
A new method, based on the excitation of the giant (spin-dipole) resonances in charge-exchange reactions, for studying the neutron-skin thickness has been tested. For a precise experimental test the (He-3,t) reaction on even Sn isotopes has been used. The results obtained are in good agreement with previous neutron-skin thickness values provided by other experimental and theoretical methods.
