Novel Photo-Dynamic Caner Therapy Strategy Development By Nanodiamond-Protein Complex.

Nano-diamond (ND) is a bio-compatible nano-material which does not cause severe cell toxicity. Meanwhile, it can conjugate with bio-molecules via its surface functional group. Previously studies indicated that ND can be triggered to explosion by high energy laser radiation. In this study, we developed a novel method to destroy the membrane of cancer cells, locally, by triggering the explosion of rGH-ND with pulse laser. In contrast, the same laser condition can't cause any injury to non- rGH-ND treated cells. Based on our study, this nanoscale therapeutic strategy possesses great potential in next generation biomedical applications.
