The addition of Si to the Ti–35Nb alloy and its effect on the corrosion resistance, when applied to biomedical materials
Journal of Alloys and Compounds(2014)
Abstract
•An investigation of the corrosion resistance of Ti–Nb–Si was proposed.•The study was based on polarization curves, OCP, electrochemical impedance, XPS.•The addition of Si to 0.35% increased the corrosion resistance of the alloys.•Data suggest that the studied alloys are promising for biomedical applications.
