摘要
Neuropathology interactive videodisk instructional (IVI) units were developed to supplement lectures and required reading material, to provide self‐directed learning and questions with feedback for interactive self‐testing, to provide additional exposure to gross and microscopic images, and to provide problem‐solving cases for application of content material. Each unit consisted of a pretest, a lesson covering required material, a problem‐solving case study, a posttest, and a glossary. Units on neoplastic disorders and cerebrovascular disorders were utilized in three curricular formats to evaluate features of the units. Students rated the IVI units very high in achieving the objectives for which they were designed. Results provided both a strong rationale and a set of guidelines for additional IVI development.
