A substructuring method for phase change modelling in hybrid media

•Heat transfer problem is solved in two phases domain with non standard interface condition.•We apply a substructuring algorithm to the enthalpy equation in a composite media.•The associated Steklov–Poincaré operator is given and its property is highlighted.•The method is validated for the unsteady-state problem with phase change (enthalpy model).
