Joshua Lederberg, Joshua Lederberg Joshua Lederberg was educated in New York City—Stuyvesant High School, Columbia College and Medical School. After 32 years as a professor at the University of Wisconsin and then at Stanford University, he returned to New York in 1978 to assume the presidency of The Rockefeller University.
