A new long-pulse data system for EAST experiments

•Slice storage mechanism on MDSplus has been adopted for the effective solutions to the continuous and quasi real-time data storage.•Using circular linked list method solves the speed mismatch between the network transmission and the MDSplus writing.•Using LVS (Linux Virtual server) load balance technology, the new system provides a safe, highly scalable and highly available network service for user to access data.
