An Improved LC-DAD Method for Simultaneous Determination of Lutein, β-Carotene and Lycopene in Tomato and Its Products

An improved liquid chromatography method coupled with diode array detector was developed for the simultaneous determination of lutein, β-carotene and lycopene in tomato epicarp and products. The separation was achieved on a YMC C 30 column with gradient elution of methanol and methyl tert -butyl ether. The improved method was simple, rapid, linear and sensitive for the simultaneous determination of the three carotenoids in tomato products.
