Heating of metal arc plasma under high vacuum

The possibility of electron collisional heating of metal ions in the cathode sheath, and the ohmic heating of a plasma which is confined in the mirror magnetic field will be discussed. The rate of increase in the densities of the multicharged metal ions will be described, when the de are current varied from 30 to 100 A. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics.
