Determination of the Effectiveness of Light Therapy for Pain - Using Visual AnalogueScale and Degree of Pain -

As society ages, the number of patients with chronic pain keeps increasing at a rapid rate. In addition to the main treatment methods at a pain clinic including nerve blocks and pharmacotherapy, light therapy is indispensable as well. It is efficacy, however, has not been so clear as nerve block. In the present study, the intensities of pain in patients with chronic pain before and after a session of light therapy were measured using the visual analogue scale and the degree of pain to confirm the efficacy of light therapy. The study also discusses how to interpret intensity of pain complained by patients concerning two diseases.
