DKRE 1—The first full-length Ty1- copia -like retrotransposon in persimmon: Isolation, characteristic and potential involvement in occurrence of bud mutations

•A full-length retrotransposon (DKRE1) from persimmon was first isolated.•Q-PCR method for determination of copy number of retrotransposon was first used in fruit tree.•DKRE1 is of active characteristics when subjected to several exogenous phytohormones.•DKRE1 might be potentially involved in occurrence of bud mutation of persimmon.
