Screening Solid Foods Infants 1 (SSFI-1) development of a screening tool to detect problems in the transition from milk to solid food in infants from six to nine months of age

•Evaluation of the psychometric properties of a newly developed screening tool Screening Solid Foods Infants 1 (SSFI-1)•Goal: Detect problems in the transition from milk to solid food, in infants 6–9 months of age.•Results The SSFI-1 is usable for term infants. For preterm infants no conclusions can be drawn, because of a significant earlier start with solid foods. For the comorbidity and feeding problem groups the SSFI-1 is valid but had a modest internal consistency.
