Experimental study on protecting effects of Yiqi Huoxue ( ) recipe in myocardial Ischemic models in dogs) recipe in myocardial Ischemic models in dogs

Ten healthy and hybrid dogs were divided into Buqi Qiangxin decoction(补气强心汤) medicated group(5 dogs) and control group (5 dogs).The myocardial ischemia models were produced by ligating the left coronary artery between the branches 1 and 2 among the anterior descending branches.Peak left ventricular systolic pressure(LVSP),left ventricular end-diastolic pressure(LVEDP),±dp/dtmax,constant of isovolumie relaxation(T-C) and heart rates(HR) were record- ed.After ligation,LVSP and±dp/dtmax and HR were decreased,LVEDP increased,T-C were prolonged,but the changes of all indices except HR in medicated group were significantly smaller than that of control group(P0.05～0. 01).After reperfusion,the left ventricular function were deteriorated progressively,but the effects were also significantly smaller in medicated group(P0.05～0.01).Using nitroblue tetrazolium staining method to calculate the area of necrot ie myocardium,the results were as follows:weight of necrotic myocardium/weight of total heart were 7.4±0.6% in medicated group and 9.75±0.97% in control group(P0.05).these results showed that Yiqi Huoxue Decoction ex- erts obvious protective effects against myocardial injury induced by ischemia/reperfusion.
