Epidemiological and genomic characteristics of a very large outbreak of Dengue in Guangdong, China.

•DENV-1 was the major serotypes of this third largest historical outbreak of dengue in Guangdong, China in 2014.•A combination analyses demonstrated the multiple geographical origins of this outbreak.•The results highlight the important strategies for further preventing large-scale dengue epidemics in Guangdong.
