Abstract
•Methamphetamine (METH) exposure increased PUMA protein in PC12 and SH-SY5Y cells.•METH elevated Bax, reduced Bcl-2, activated caspase 3 and PARP.•METH increased the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria to cytoplasm.•All these effects were attenuated or reversed after silencing PUMA with siRNA.
