摘要

•We searched for novel target mRNAs of the RNA-binding protein HuR in HepG2 cells.•shRNA-mediated knockdown of HuR reduces the half-life of lymphotoxin α mRNA.•The decrease in mRNA-stability affects lymphotoxin α mRNA and protein levels.•HuR specifically binds to the 3′untranslated region of the LTα mRNA.•The RNA-binding critically depends on the RRM 2 and the hinge region of HuR.
