Vibration isolation of mechatronic metamaterial beam with resonant piezoelectric shunting

•Mechatronic metamaterial shunted with LRC shunting produces tunable bandgaps.•The analytical model of mechatronic metamaterial beam is established.•Parameters study is conducted to illustrate how the mechanical and electrical parameters affect the bandgaps.•An experimental rig is designed to prove the low frequency vibration isolation.
