Successful fluid resuscitation in a patient with high extravascular lung water index by restricted fluid infusion strategy under pulse indicator continuous cardiac output monitoring.

Extravascular lung water index (EVLWI) is a measure of the interstitial, alveolar, and lymphatic fluid content of the lungs. A number of animal and clinical studies demonstrated an association of EVLWI to mortality. In this report, we describe successful fluid resuscitation in a patient with high EVLWI by restricted fluid infusion strategy under pulse indicator continuous cardiac output monitoring.
