Ruthenium complexes as inhibitors of the aldo–keto reductases AKR1C1–1C3

摘要
•Five new ruthenium(II) complexes were synthesized with N,N-donor ligands.•Crystal structures of two of the new ruthenium complexes were determined.•Three ruthenium compounds inhibit the AKR1C1–AKR1C3 enzymes.•One of the new ruthenium complexes inhibits only the AKR1C3 enzyme.•All four active ruthenium compounds show multiple binding to the AKR1C enzymes.
