The efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in different histological types of cervical cancer.

•This is the first meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy of NACT between two different histological types of cervical carcinoma.•The short-term outcomes were similar between SCC and non-SCC.•Histological type may be used to predict the long-term efficacy of NACT, especially those with FIGO stages above IIB.
