摘要
Parathyroid adenomas most commonly present with asymptomatic hypercalcemia in adults >45 years old. Parathyroidectomy is the treatment of choice for symptomatic and select asymptomatic patients although observation and medical therapy have a role in the asymptomatic and surgically unfit patients. We report a case of definitive treatment by stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in a 93-year-old male with significant hypercalcemia and radiographically confirmed parathyroid adenoma who was unable to undergo surgery due to medical comorbidities. Prolonged normalization of the calcium level was achieved without sequelae.
