Anti-inflammatory effects of vinpocetine on the functional expression of nuclear factor-kappa B and tumor necrosis factor-alpha in a rat model of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

•We set a rat model of cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury.•We have shown the time-dependent expression of NF-κB and TNF-α in this model.•Examine the expression of TNF-α mRNA in cytoplasm by in-situ hybridization.•Extract nuclear protein and examine the NF-κB P65 protein's expression in nucleus.•We demonstrate the ability of vinpocetine to suppress these inflammatory pathways.
