Abstract
促红细胞生成素(erthropoietin,EPO)主要以调节红细胞生成而被人们广泛认识,而最近研究发现EPO及其受体在神经系统中广泛分布,提示其可能对神经系统有重要作用.许多研究证明,EPO对神经系统疾病有重要的保护作用,这种作用在低氧缺血的条件下表现特别明显.EPO主要通过激活一系列信号转导通路及多种可能的机制发挥神经保护作用.EPO作为一种神经保护剂已经应用于临床研究,但最终应用于临床治疗还需要进行大量的研究.
