Overlap of epitopes recognized by anti-carbonic anhydrase I IgG in patients with malignancy-related aplastic anemia-like syndrome and in patients with aplastic anemia

•We identify immunodominant epitopes of CA I recognized by specific autoantibodies.•We compare antibodies isolated from sera of patients with AA and AA-like syndrome.•Antibodies from both groups of patients recognize the same CA I epitopes.•Overlap of epitopes may indicate common pathophysiological mechanisms.
