Identification and characterization of mimotopes of classical swine fever virus E2 glycoprotein using specific anti-E2 monoclonal antibodies.

•Thirteen CSF specific mAbs were mapped using phage display technology.•Resulting mimotopes were tested for use as potential CSF diagnostic reagents.•The mimotopes were tested for binding to CSF, BVD, and BD antibodies in swine serum.•Two mimotopes bound CSF sera tested and fewer BVD sera than a commercial ELISA.
