Yeast surface display for the expression, purification and characterization of wild-type and B11 mutant glucose oxidases.

•Glucose oxidase variants were expressed on the surface of yeast cells as chimeras.•Expressed chimeras of GOx and Aga2 protein were purified and characterized.•Chimeras had lower activity than their native enzyme forms.•Activity ratio of different chimera variants was similar to their native enzyme forms.•These chimeras are suitable for high throughput screening in directed evolution.
