摘要
The simple bone cyst is a relatively unusual lesion that occurs in the jaws and in the long bones of the skeleton. In general, the lesion is asymptomatic and often discovered by chance during routine radiographic examination. The nature and etiology have not been established conclusively, and this fact is reflected by the different terms used to describe the condition. These terms include traumatic bone cyst, hemorrhagic bone cyst, solitary bone cyst, and progressive bone cavity. Most simple bone cysts of the jaw are located in the body or symphysis of the mandible. Only a few cases have been reported in the mandibular condyle. This report describes a case of a simple bone cyst in the mandibular condyle in a child.
