Abstract
Two recent studies question the role of dietary fiber in the prevention of colorectal cancer. However, the duration of dietary intervention, dose of fiber, and the complexity of polyp formation and transformation to carcinomas make interpretation of such studies difficult. Multiple rationales exist for promoting the consumption of high-fiber, lowfat, fruit- and vegetable-rich diets.
