Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) represents the most prevalent adult leukemia and is characterized by the accumulation of long-lived B lymphocytes. Despite significant advances in its therapy especially during the last two decades, the disease still remains incurable and new treatment options need to be developed.
