摘要
It is clear from the ‘National Strategy for Sexual Health and HIV’ and other sources that numbers of cases of HIV positivity and other sexually transmitted diseases continue to increase inexorably in the UK and that this needs to be tackled using all means possible. Public concern is growing and understandably so as for example a prediction made in 2002 of there being 34000 cases of HIV in the UK by 2005 has turned into a genuine figure of 72938 by June 2005. One cornerstone of prevention of spread is the use of condoms. (excerpt)
