Test metric assessment of microfluidic systems through heterogeneous fault simulation

In this paper we introduce a microfluidic system workflow, incorporating system design, simulation and test. We introduce our microfluidic fault library and novel method of fault injection, the Fault Block. We cross-validate our simulation to experimental work with reference to two test methods; impedance spectroscopy and Levich sensors. The workflow is described with reference to a “Y” channel hydrodynamic system, the results from which show greater test capability using our approach than conventional sensors.
