A RRNS based robust ranging algorithm with RIPS measurements

Owing to its closed-form and ambiguity-resolving capability, the Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) has been applied recently into the Radio Interferometric Positioning System (RIPS) to get a robust range estimation. Although the existing robust CRT based ranging algorithms can resist the remainder errors to an acceptable level, they merely take advantage of the redundancy of common divisor. And there is still another kind of redundancy, named remainder number redundancy, ready to be utilized. In this contribution, after having the ranging problem formulated, then the discussion and extending works presented, an opportunistic selecting of moduli based ranging algorithm (OSRA) is proposed. The comparison figures in the simulation part corroborate that both kinds of above-mentioned redundancy are well exploited by our novel proposal in enhancing the ranging performance.
