Research on the limit capacity of the railway transportation based on the swarm platform in the metallurgical enterprises

Abstract
In the metallurgical enterprises, there exists a prominent contradiction between the demand of the railway transportation and the EFR (existing facilities of railway). To research on the limit capacity of the EFR, this paper constructed a Multi-Agent model based on the MAS (multi-agent system) theory for the RTS (railway transportation system) in the metallurgical enterprises. Take a steel plant as an example. This paper simulated the operation of the RTS in the process of steel production in a year through the Swarm platform, and calculated the fluctuation of the AROR (annual railway occupancy rate), and then analyzed the utilization situation of the EFR and found out the limit capacity of the EFR and the related factors restricted the limit. It provided a theoretical basis for the metallurgical enterprises to make full use of the existing capacity of the RTS by establishing the efficient traffic schemes and to improve the capacity of the RTS by improving the EFR.
